A book devoted to the Melaka home of two major figures of the country's Baba (Straits Chinese) community Tan Cheng Lock and his son Tan Siew Sin. The father founded the Malaysian Chinese Association while his son led the party after independence and was a long serving Finance Minister. However the book is principally about the architecture and history of the house. Chin Kon Yit was an authority on Malaysian historic architecture while Chen Voon Fee is a noted water colour artist. Both have collaborated on a range of best selling books on buildings throughout Malaysia with Chin providing the informed text complimenting and Chen's evocative paintings, as is the case in this book. 116 pages.
