The book is based on research carried out by the author in 1994 which was followed up in 2001. In the course of his research, he attempted to disentangle the various cinematic influences on the country, how it affected films produced in Malaysia and what messages the effect of those influences gave about the Malaysian cinema going public and their preferences. One early discovery was that Malaysian cinema, demonstrating cross cultural interactions, hardly existed, 301 pages with a filmography, bibliography and index. Paperback. First Edition.
