This book, first published in1853, is possibly one of the first tourist accounts of the region. Kinloch was not out to explore, trade or colonise. He was simply on a recuperative trip after an illness. He had a sharp eye and an occasional witty turn of phrase. 139 pages with 23 colour plates and a map.
